Soft Segmentation and Reconstruction of Tree Crown from Laser Scanning Data

چکیده
Point cloud data obtained by laser scanning can be used for object shape modeling and analysis, including forest inventory. One of the inventory tasks is individual tree extraction measurement. However, segmentation, especially crown challenging. In this paper, we present a novel soft segmentation algorithm to segment crowns in point clouds automatically reconstruct surface from segmented cloud. The mainly processes overlapping region crown. experimental results showed that was accurate, reconstructed looked natural. reconstruction highly efficient calculating time memory cost aspects since number extracted boundary points small. With geometry, attributes, width, height, superficial area, projecting ground volume, could estimated. presented here effective segmentation.

Reconstruction of Tree Crown Shape from Scanned Data
Reconstruction of a real tree from scattered scanned points is a new challenge in virtual reality. Although many progresses are made on main branch structures and overall shape of a tree, reconstructions are still not satisfactory in terms of silhouette and details. We do think that 3D reconstruction of the tree crown shapes may help to constrain accurate reconstruction of complete real tree ge...
متن کاملSegmentation-based Classification of Laser Scanning Data
Over the past few years, laser scanning has been established as a leading technology for the acquisition of high density 3D spatial information. Digital Terrain Models (DTMs), which can be used for different engineering applications, are obtained by classification of laser data and removing the points that do not belong to terrain surface. The commonly used methods for the classification of las...

Nowadays, advanced real-time visualization for location-based applications, such as vehicle navigation or mobile phone navigation, requires large scale 3D reconstruction of street scenes. This paper presents methods for generating photorealistic 3D city models from raw mobile laser scanning data, which only contain georeferenced XYZ coordinates of points, to enable the use of photorealistic mod...
متن کاملBuilding Reconstruction from Laser Scanning and Images
The automatic extraction of objects from laser scans and images has been a topic of research for decades. Nowadays, with new services expected, especially in the area of navigation systems, location based services, and augmented reality, the need for automated, efficient extraction systems becomes more urgent than ever. After giving an overview, this paper reviews some of the automatic and semi...
متن کاملIndividual Tree Crown Delineation from Airborne Laser Scanning for Diseased Larch Forest Stands
Airborne laser scanning (ALS) can be utilised to derive canopy height models (CHMs) for individual tree crown (ITC) delineation. In the case of forest areas subject to defoliation and dieback as a result of disease, increased irregularities across the canopy can add complications to the segmentation of ITCs. Research has yet to address this issue in order to suggest appropriate techniques to ap...
